Definition: Severity reflects the severity of the rule violation. The Warning Severity is used to indicate there is a minor problem, or to inform the message receiver of possible misuse, or to indicate a problem may arise in the future. The Fatal Severity is used to indicate a fatal problem like a system error.

What This Means: As used in DataSpecs, severity refers to a radio-button selection to reflect the severity of the rule violation as either “Fatal” or “Warning.”
